Who We Are:
Peace of Green is a Community Interest Company based in the East Midlands. Our company structure means that any profits we make are used to help others.
We believe that everyone has the right to have a relationship with the natural world, but not everyone finds it easy to access natural spaces. We provide creative and therapeutic time in nature, in order to enhance mental health and wellbeing, prioritising working with groups of people who might find getting out into nature more difficult due to finances, age, gender, ethnicity or ability. At our core we aim to build connections between people and nature with warmth, wisdom and joy.
What We Do:
We run a variety of outdoor and indoor based sessions. Some are open to the public; such as campfire cooking evenings and quiet retreats, and others cater for specific clientele groups, for example frontline staff, people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties, Looked After Children, or women who have experienced domestic violence.
Our aims are to create opportunities to bond with the living natural world, develop curiosity, form friendships and share time in nature.
Why We Do:
Spending time in nature is good for our mental and physical health. As a result of connecting with green spaces around us we become calmer and more contented people. The difficulties of the day may be forgotten as you lie in a hammock under the tree canopy.
The relationships we develop with others and with nature itself form new communities which strengthen our reserve, resolve, and resilience. We work hard to help improve access to nature for all, so that we can all feel its’ benefits and magic.
